I recently acquired a pre WWW I booklet entitled The "Safety" Movement, a GWR publication which was reprinted & presented to employees by the NER to encourage staff to ask themselves Is it safe? as they went about their duties.   While the photographs & methods may be dated, the messages remain relevant.
