Tomorrow's Trains

It''s "Children's Day" tomorrow, so two trains will be running, hauled by Sir Cecil A Cochrane and Twizell.   Trains will leave Andrews House station for Sunniside, Causey and Tanfield at 11.00, 11.50, 12.30, 1.15, 2.00, 2.45, 3.30 and 4.15.

** UPDATE **  Trains will run between Causey Arch and Sunnisde only, which will affect the timetable.   There will be no trains to or from East Tanfield.

The Tanfield Thunderbolt

I recall the Tanfield Thunderbolt epithet being applied to us by the Daily Telegraph about 20 years ago, when our light railway order passed through Parliament.   In further support I offer the existing coat of arms for Stanley.   This shows the Causey or Tanfield Arch, and the bull's Roman shield features thunderbolts, hence the Tanfield Thunderbolts.

This Jubilee Weekend's Trains

This weekend's loco will be Twizell on all three running days - Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.   Trains will leave Andrews House station for Sunniside, Causey, Tanfield and back at 11 am, 12.15, 1.30, 2.45 and 4 pm.
