A Track Task

We (Ian, John, Phil, Malcolm, Malcolm and I) have started to replace several timbers under the point south of Andrews House station:

Unfastening the rail from the timbers .....

.....lifting the rail using a pair of ironmen .....

.... and moving it out of the way

The other rails are moved aside ....

..... and the old timbers sawn in two and removed

Replacing with hardwood timbers
(each weighing about 200kg)

The decision is taken to remove two more ....

.....suspect timbers

The last few timbers are worked round into place

Rails replaced and fishplated .....

..... and the last rail rolled back in - we'll probably
gauge and refix the rails tomorrow

In the workshop, Dave has been making bushes for Horden's motion
