The engine was built in 1888 by the Grange Iron Co of Durham City & when installed in 1903 at F Pit each cylinder was fitted with Grange Iron Co's patent valve gear, each with 4 cylinders. (If anyone knows more about this valve gear, please let us know via a comment.) |
