Thanks so much for posting these photographs. It is great to see this elegant engine being made ready to run again.

What is the story about Twizell's safety valves? I see that your engineers are finishing and testing a set of Ramsbottom safety valves, which Twizell carried when working at Morrison Busty. Since the 2009 restoration it appears to have carried Ross pop valves, and those are still on the boiler as repaired. Is the plan definitely to fit the Ramsbottom valves in this restoration?

Euan - thanks for the interest. We're returning Twizell to use & more original or earlier condition. Its Ramsbottoms were on Lambton No.14, which is some way from steaming, so we're returning these safety valves to Twizell. Israel Newton in Derbyshire have completed significant firebox work so we can run Twizell next year, Tanfield's 300th anniversary. We plan more heavy maintenance & work to better present the loco, but these are more likely from 2026.
