Malleable No.5 Hand Over

Before Marley Hill & Beamish, Malleable No.5 was used at Stockton by South Durham Steel & Iron Co.   It has an unknown builder, but its origins may be with the Stockton Malleable Iron Works.
Malleable No.5 was the first loco to be steamed by Tanfield Railway at Marley Hill.

Today, on behalf of the Tanfield Railway Trust, I accepted a nameplate & the loco from Paul Jarman of Beamish Museum, where the loco has been since 1975.
Tomorrow around midday at AH, Angela will receive Twizell on behalf of TRT.
Malleable No.5 is an historic Durham industrial locomotive to be conserved & ultimately restored.
It's likely to arrive at Marley Hill in early 2026.
