Hitachi Rail UK
Yesterday evening there was an SLS talk in the Mining Institute (NEIMME ) by Jim Brewin, Head of Business Development for Hitachi Rail UK. He outlined Hitachi's plan for train construction at their Newton Aycliffe plant.
Also yesterday, Richard Branson was showing off Virgin's new Azuma (Hitachi AT300) for the East Coast route, with Kings X to Waverley in 4 hours |
Tomorrow's Trains
Clocks go forward on Sunday 27 March, so tomorrow we stick with four passenger trains leaving Andrews House at 10.30 am, noon, 1.40 & 3.10 pm for Sunniside, Causey, East Tanfield & return, headed by Cochrane.

Open Days
FODMs (Friends of Discovery Museum) visited Tanfield Railway last November, to learn about us.
FODMs' quarterly open meeting, open to the public, is next Tuesday 8 March at 12.30 in the Carpathia Room of the Discovery Museum. The agenda includes a report on the visit to Tanfield Railway.
Bowes Railway open days are this weekend, Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 March.
