Did you know? Tanfield Waggonway was 4' gauge; Hawks Waggonway (Gateshead) 4'3"; Wylam Waggonway used 5' gauge; Willington Waggonway 4'8", hence Killingworth Waggonway 4'8" & from there the Stephensons' influence spread to Hetton, the S&DR, the L&MR, across Britain & the world.

Tomorrow's Trains

Tomorrow is 'Coals to Newcastle', part of 'Freight in February'.   HL No.2 will head passenger trains from Andrews House at 10.30 am, 12.05 pm, 1.45 & 3.25 for Sunniside, Causey, East Tanfield & return.
Twizell will run light engine from Marley Hill at 9.40 am to bring a coal train from East Tanfield at 10.30 am, then from Andrews House at 10.55 am, 12.35 pm & 2.16.
