John Bull built by Robert Stephenson (RS 25 of 1831) for Camden & Amboy RR (from a Locomotive Engineer's Album, GB Abdill, Bonanza, 1965) |
Samson built by Timothy Hackworth in 1838 for General Mining of Nova Scotia (from a Locomotive Engineer's Album, GB Abdill, Bonanza, 1965) |
The locos above are now preserved - search for more photos & details on the web. There is a replica of John Bull in its original 0-4-0 form. The original John Bull was much rebuilt, but has been steamed in recent years.
There is a list of early RS locos built for North America.
