What's happening with No.14?
Hi Matt
The bicentenary of George Stephenson's 1822 Hetton Colliery Railway will occur in June.
The Hetton Railway used horses, balanced inclines, stationary engines & locomotives on iron rails, so helped form railway development as well as opening up deep mining in Durham.
TR was asked for the loan of No.14 (as a later rep of the railway) for display on a low loader as part of a celebratory parade around Hetton. We've stored 14 under cover & it's largely complete. We're doing a few things to make it more presentable & as it was at Hetton, in the limited time available.
Derek
Sounds good! Another event for the calendar!
