The Joshua Smith coal-fired steam crane with the shorter jib came to Tanfield from Dorman Long of Middlesbrough about 50 years ago. The Smith of Rodley oil-fired steam crane with the longer jib came from Parnaby of Darlington about 30 years ago. Both are going permanently to Threlkeld for future restoration & display. The 4-wheel engine bases will follow in a few weeks.
