OS Maps

The National Library of Scotland at http://www.nls.uk/ provides some excellent information & resources including scanned maps which are available at http://maps.nls.uk/  and OS 6" maps (which are over 50 years old and out of copyright, I understand).
It takes practice to find particular maps, so I've added some viaLinks of Interest, mainly in section 4 North East Interest, with names starting OS.....   Old OS maps are fascinating if you are interested in industrial  and urban development anywhere in the UK; those on the NLS site are zoomable & printablea.   In North East England, try following the railway routes between pit and river to discover your history.

As an example, there is a snippet of a map inPuzzle Corner, showing an area of Sunderland now partially under a B&Q warehouse.
