Historical Stuff
No.2 now has a Gardner, bur originally had a Saurer diesel engine.   In the 1930s, Armstrong Whitworth manufactured lorries under licence from Saurer of Switzerland.  Google for more ....

Also in the 1930s, Armstrongs manufactured diesel locos & railcars in conjunction with Sulzer of Switzerland.   Read the Armstrong Whitworth section of the Derby Sulzers web & Diesel Shunting Locomotives of the Railway Wonders web for more.

Read about our Reyrolle & Co No.2 on the TR web site, and see the harpist son of Armstrong's electrical engineer on this TR blog.

AW No.2 will be used similarly in Andrews House on Sunday 23 April.   Please contact us if you would like to write & post more information on our loco for then.
