Loco Firing

The Fire Triangle

The fire triangle is used by fire fighters to show that there are 3 components which, if all present & balanced, will cause a chemical reaction - a fire.   Remove a component and the fire goes out.   The inverse applies to steam loco firing, where the fireman must strive for the perfect balance of components to get the most heat energy from coal, which also occurs with minimum smoke.

Google Tanfield Railway

Google carries basic information about TR.   If you use Google search for Tanfield Railway, you'll be presented with a list of alternatives covering the TR main web, Facebook, TripAdvisor, Wiki, etc.   However, the info which Google holds is down the right hand side of the search results.   It includes some basic facts which we have to maintain, plus reviews & photos freely supplied to Google from members of the public - most of this is good to excellent, including the few bad reviews which inform us what matters to visitors.   Similarly, the photos show what the public are looking for and how we present ourselves.
There are a few reviews of NPE, not all for TR - click for more reviews
