RSH Huskies
Huskies are lightweight diesel mechanical locos. Their Gardner 6LW engine has a fluid flywheel coupled through a 2 speed gearbox to a reversing final drive with output to jackshafts & rods. They were built speculatively to stock in the late 1950s & early 1960s by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns Ltd, in Newcastle & later Darlington.
Recently, Darryl Bond emailed a couple of photos of the 3'6" gauge Husky operating on New Zealand's Oamaru Steam & Rail.
