Please can we see more of Sarah's work on Cochrane. We are bored to death with pictures of windows.
Sarah's work on Cochrane will continue to feature, including when we get the new tank.
The blog shows everyday TR stuff, which tends to go in waves. You'll have seen the new floor & partial pit rebuild. The shed windows are a major undertaking as part of presenting MHES in 1930s condition - when complete, we should recreate a light & airy building as seen in some later photos. Excitingly, the frames still need to be glazed! We can't get on with the roof because of suitable sheets being on back order. Minor works such as replacing doorways & archways are being done as we go. Part rendering of walls will precede electrical installation. Moving the wheel lathe & its access is a separate project.
Cheers
Derek
Personally, I'm delighted to see the breeze-blocks removed from the openings and the windows reinstated. Who bricked them up in the first place, the NCB?
Whoever it was, I'll be very happy to see MH Shed restored to 1930's condition
We bricked up the windows 50 years ago as a security measure when we usually only worked at Marley Hill on weekends. Wanting to show enlightenment, we opened up 3 windows about 10 years ago, but the rest were considered more awkward - until now.
