One Job

Peter vigorously mixing undercoat .....
..... & equally vigorously applying it as a second layer of undercoat on Horden's tank
Horden's tank still has a lot of pitting showing through the paint, which needs to be filled & smoothed.   The aim is to preserve & again make useful this original 1904 rivetted wrought iron tank.

On and off railways 1953-2002, redundant 4 times! said...

When I started on the finest railway, the Southern, 1953 lead based paint was still in use in some smaller sheds where the foreman wanted a good depth to the colour, and asbestos was slathered on by hand. Materials change but the skill doesn't.
